Dear Buzzards and Hawks families,

I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you regarding a significant development within our lacrosse family. Effective immediately, Eastern Mass Hawks Lacrosse has acquired the Buzzards.  

This strategic move aims to enhance our lacrosse programs and offer an even more comprehensive and rewarding experience for our players and their families. As part of this acquisition, I'm pleased to announce that Connor Johnson is joining the Hawks team full time, playing a pivotal role in managing the strategy, curriculum, and overall program development.  His expertise and passion for the sport will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success and growth of our lacrosse community. Along with Connor, we welcome all of the Buzzard’s coaching staff. 

To celebrate this exciting union and to foster a sense of community among all players and parents, we would like to invite you to a Meet & Greet session with myself, Kevin Orcutt, and Connor. This will be a great opportunity to connect, share our visions for the future, and answer any questions you may have. We'll be hosting a Rockland Meet & Greet in the next few weeks at the HardKore Athletic Performance Center (2 Reservoir Park Drive Unit 4 - Rockland) - we will email a date/time when solidified. During these sessions, we will also discuss enrollment opportunities for upcoming & current programs, including:

• Winter Lacrosse Program
• Strength Training with George Petrakos: Head Trainer for the New England Free Jacks Rugby Club
• February Break Clinic

We encourage you to bring any questions, suggestions, or simply your enthusiasm for the sport to these sessions. Your feedback and engagement are vital as we embark on this exciting journey together. We look forward to meeting each and every one of you and building a stronger, more vibrant lacrosse community together at Hawks.

Eastern Massachusetts Hawks was established in 2010 to help develop boys on their lacrosse journey. Over the last 14 years and with the guidance of qualified & caring coaches, we've created a community driven to both on the field and off the field.

 A solid combination of skills, group training, team practices, and tournaments designed to develop athletes of all ages throughout the year. We have access to coaching firepower, and believe the right mentality and training paired with elite coaches make all the difference. In addition to Kevin Buchanon, we're thrilled to bring former Cannons Goalie, Jack Murphy, on to lead our goalie training this year.

By inviting the Buzzards players & families into the Hawks community we're able to provide access to opportunities year round for multi-sport athletes.  who always want to be with qualified coaches that want to have an impact on their life.  We will only have teams based on our ability to have great coaches lead them.

Yes, we're looking to secure additional locations inside and outside of the  24 and 495 area, from Bridgewater to the Cape.  Every player will have access to clinics, programs & training no matter their location.

In high school we have a talent-based team setting with the best HS Players on Varsity and so on;  in middle school & below our teams are grade-based and look to have the appropriate level players play together.

Connor and I are readily accessible for any and all questions, as will your coaches.  We will also have incredibly important people behind the scenes helping with hotels, communication, and more.

We've invited all Buzzard's coaches to join the Hawks family, and can't wait to utilize their expertise and training to expand our coaching knowledge.

Yes, Connor will continue to run a Box Program--a welcome addition to our program offering!

We believe in Multi-Sport Athletes and therefore charge by the season.  We have a Team Fee that gets players into our program and a uniform, and recommend players enroll in at least two seasons during the year.  Our Youth and Middle School does offer spring lacrosse as well.  Typically we play two tourneys in the fall and three in the summer, and supply film for High School Tourneys included in tuition.

Kevin Orcutt was the High School Director for the EMass Minutemen from 2006-2010.  In 2009, the Minutemen merged with Laxachusetts.  At that time, I partnered with Dan Chouinard of Laxachusetts keeping the Emass Minutemen going. In 2012, I separated from Minutemen under good terms and began the Emass Hawks when I began coaching lacrosse at Boston College. We built the facility in 2014 and have helped thousands of young men--many late bloomers--have great high school careers and hundreds into college.  Currently the head coach at Marshfield High School since 2018.
