Blackhawks Program Details

2016/2017 BlackHawks Club Program Details

The BlackHawks Program is designed for the young man who wants to play lacrosse at the next level. Opportunities will be offered only to those who we feel can compete in the “A” Divisions at tournaments we attend. We will not have a lower tiered team at the BlackHawks level; only an equal team, if the talent level warrants it.  There will be other opportunities at the Hawks Program but the BlackHawks will function totally independent of the Hawk Program.  BlackHawks will also travel with fewer teams to tournaments and showcases to assure the best possible experience for our players and their family.

Player Development

Development is our priority and will be done through unparalleled opportunities in three areas:

  1. We will be offering weekly positional skills training at the Academy in Rockland.  We will host over 25 weeks of skills from late September through the Summer of 2017.
  2. We will be developing Lacrosse IQ for our players with 14 tactical sessions throughout the year run by our best instructors.
  3. We will be providing competition at the proper level.  We will put players in tournaments and showcases that are about challenging them and helping them excel.  They will be in the “A” Brackets at tournaments we attend.  At the High School level, we are about getting our players in front of the proper audience to further their dreams.

Development of the Total Student-Athlete as a young man, combining his academic aspirations and his goals as a lacrosse player will be a priority for the Hawks Program.  We will provide one on one interviews and a support system at the Academy in Rockland.  We have invested in the online support of Lacrosse Recruits at the High School level to provide our players with a constant means of communication with the College coaching arena. The BlackHawks Program offers a personal level of support that is unmatched for all of our young men.  One on one meetings begin in the third grade and we vamp up the program at the High School level to provide for academic reviews, proper interview skills, a total college planning evaluation, as well as financial aid advice in meetings scheduled throughout the year.

We are working together with top programs in the Area to give extra opportunities for our young men.  This summer, we worked with Mike Pressler of Bryant University and Steve O’Donnell of LaSalle Academy (Rhode Island State Champions) in a two day camp to kick off the Hawks summer practice sessions. We were the first club to work with the Bulldogs in their new 10 million dollar indoor complex at Bryant.   We will be building upon this great relationship and developing a more comprehensive camp next summer. Our Youth teams will participate in the first Bryant Bulldog National Indoor Tournament in Smithfield, RI.  This, along with great coaches at 2Way Lacrosse in Connecticut and some great local clubs will make the upcoming year very exciting.

Commitment to Excellence

The BlackHawks Program is focused on the quality of our training, the individual players and their specific needs.  Instead of adding more teams, we are looking at the BlackHawks Program to help develop our players into the best young man possible.  We gauge success one player at a time and over the long haul.  We offer guidance in practice, as well as in meetings, and conversations about the right academic choices and college planning decisions.  We are here for you.  This is BlackHawks.
